On-demand learning only works if someone can answer you
5 min · 2026-07-28
On-demand learning fails for a predictable reason: you watch until you hit a wall, then the wall wins. Without a person to ask, “flexibility” becomes abandonment.
Useful on-demand learning still has structure — modules, projects, and assessment — plus a tutor you can message about a specific lesson, module, or timestamp.
Live classes are better when you want schedule accountability and real-time discussion. On-demand is better when your calendar will not hold a fixed class slot. Both should include tutor access; that is the difference between a platform and a video archive.
If a product only sells recordings, treat it as content. If it sells getting unstuck, treat it as learning support.
